Sue Paresky

Sue Paresky is a nationally-known senior leader with over 35 years’ experience in non-profit management. She is currently consulting on philanthropic strategy development and best-in-class fundraising design. Most recently, Sue held the position of SVP and Chief Philanthropy Officer for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund. Funds raised under Sue’s leadership increased from $30 million annually to $300 million annually from over 250,000 donors. During this time, Dana-Farber was the first hospital in New England to exceed a $1 billion Capital Campaign goal.Previously, Sue held the position of Chief Development Officer at the Harvard University T. H. Chan School of Public Health and at Brandeis University.

Sue is a past president of Women in Development (WID) and has been a board member of several industry associations.She has won many awards and been cited for excellence by WID, CASE, AFP, Columbia Business School, Simmons School of Management, Wheaton College, and the Walnut Hill School. She collaborated with Harvard Business School to create theDana-Farber Cancer Institute Case on Fundraising. She was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society for collegiate schools of business for her leadership and knowledge, and in 2011 was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters by Wheaton College.Sue was also named one of the 25 most influential Bostonians in philanthropy by Boston Magazine.

Sue received her bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College, MA where she served as a Trustee there for many years.She received her MBA from Simmons School of Management and chaired their Business Advisory Council.Sue is married to Joe Paresky and they split their time between Boston and Indian Wells, CA.
