Liz recently became a Partner at More Partnership, a fundraising consulting firm rooted in the U.K. with clients globally. Originally from New York, she has 20 years of fundraising experience, most recently nine years in Scotland as Director of Major Gifts and then Director of Philanthropy and Donor Relations at the University of Edinburgh. In the latter role, she led a high-performing team managing all university-wide fundraising programmes, including trusts and foundations, individual major gifts from the UK and globally, Supporter Engagement (broad-based fundraising), Legacies, and Donor Relations.
Liz moved to Edinburgh from Seattle, where she was Director of Development for Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest, a healthcare provider (with strong advocacy and educational programmes) serving patients in 30 clinics across three states. As chief development officer, she managed the fundraising team and worked closely with the board and its fundraising committee. While there, Liz received the national Planned Parenthood Fundraiser of the Year Award when she led a record-breaking year for fundraising.
Liz has also been a campaign director, a fundraising consultant (where she worked with educational, environmental, human rights, health care, and other organisations), and a Peace Corps Volunteer, teaching at a secondary school in Malawi.
Liz’s own giving tends to focus on expanding access to education; this has also been a theme of her volunteering, including her current roles as Philanthropic Advisor to the Cowrie Scholarship Foundation and as board member on UNICEF UK’s Scotland Advisory Board. Liz is also actively involved with CASE Europe: she has been on the faculty of the Spring Institute in Educational Fundraising since 2019 (chairing it in 2022 and 2023) and she was recently honoured with a CASE Crystal Apple Award for excellence in teaching.
