Bob Groves

His career has been focused on building winning teams in large public universities.  Bob Groves recently retired from the University of Texas at Austin where he served for five years as the Senior Associate Vice President for Development and help to plan and launch the $6 Billion dollar, “What Starts Here” campaign.  He previously served as the first vice president for University Advancement at Michigan State University where led a newly formed integrated advancement team through their second campaign to exceeding $1.8 billion dollars.

He served as associate vice president and campaign director for the Michigan Difference Campaign at the University of Michigan which raised more than $3.2 Billion, a record for public higher education at the time. He has served as vice president of development for the Minnesota Medical Foundation where he directed all fund-raising activities for the foundation which supported medical schools in Minneapolis and Duluth, the School of Public Health, and the Cancer Center at the University of Minnesota.  He previously served as the executive director of University Development at Pennsylvania State University, the director of the Wright State University Foundation and in various development and alumni relations positions at the Ohio State University, his alma mater.

Bob has served in various volunteer roles, including Board Chair for the TSC Alliance, a non-profit dedicated to finding a cure and supporting those affected by Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, a genetic disorder that causes tumors through out the body. 

Bob, and his wife Kathy have three grown sons and two granddaughters. They live in the Texas hill country, just outside of Austin, Texas
