Angelique S.C. Grant, Ph.D., is a Senior Consultant and Principal at The Inclusion Firm. Shehas more than 28 years of experience in the nonprofit sector partnering with organizations, ranging from education, arts and culture, philanthropic foundations, healthcare, social and community services, and government agencies. She is considered a thought leader in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), inclusive philanthropy, and the co-author of the first comprehensive published DEI book in the fundraising industry Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Advancement: A Guide to Strengthening Engagement and Fundraising Through Inclusion in addition to being cited in The New York Times, Chronicle of Philanthropy, and other media of record.
She is a certified unconscious bias trainer and certified diversity recruiter who has countlessly presented globally and counseled numerous organizations on creating a culture of inclusivity, both internally within organizational settings (e.g., workplace environment, talent management), as well as externally regarding constituent engagement. Dr. Grant provides services that enhance the success of leaders and teams which includes creating inclusive philanthropic programs, strategic thought partnership consulting, executive coaching, talent management efforts, DEI assessments, inclusive philanthropic educational experiences workshops, and program evaluations.
Prior to leading The Inclusion Firm, she served as a Vice President and Senior Consultant with Aspen Leadership Group, an executive search and consulting firm. Throughout her career, Dr. Grant has successfully led teams and exceeded fundraising goals in several billion and multi-million-dollar campaigns. Previously, she served as an Assistant Vice President of Development and Assistant Dean of Medical Advancement, Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University. Her extensive experience in higher education advancement has also included roles at Princeton University, Washington State University, and the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Dr. Grant is a proud Miami, Florida native and a Fulbright Scholar who holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration specializing in Institutional Advancement from Washington State University. She has a M.A. in Communication, specializing in Public Relations and Media Management from Washington State University, and a B.S. in Journalism from Florida A&M University.
She has chaired and served as faculty for several conferences across the country such as Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), and more.Dr. Grant serves on numerous boards, including Our Fund (LGBTQ) Foundation, the African-American Development Officers (AADO) Network, Black Leaders in Philanthropy, and the Advisory Committee for Women of Color in Fundraising and Philanthropy (WOC).She isDEI advisor for AHP anda member ofDelta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.
