Don Hasseltine is a Managing Director with ZRG Aspen Leadership Group, bringing 30 years of experience in advancement for higher education. Before joining ZRG, Don held senior leadership roles across five institutions, most recently serving as Vice President for Development at Brown University. He has led major campaign strategy and execution, including helping to launch Brown’s $3 billion campaign, and has guided organizations through strategic planning and organizational development. Don also leads executive search engagements, placing and advising presidents, CEOs, chief development officers, and senior advancement leaders
Ian McCray, Principal, brings more than two decades of experience across higher education, nonprofit leadership, and executive search. Ian returned to executive search in 2021 after a distinguished career in advancement and alumni engagement roles at institutions including Middlebury College, the University of Vermont Foundation, Bennington College, and the Shelburne Museum. Ian’s background as a frontline fundraiser shapes his approach. He understands how leadership decisions connect to institutional strategy, donor engagement, and long-term sustainability. He has managed high-value prospect portfolios and led fundraising strategy, giving him a practical view of what effective leadership looks like in action.
